AGBU Tarouhy-Hovagimian Sec. School – Field Trip to “Bsharri-Al Arz”

By Vana Georgian (Grade 10S)

Teacher: Mrs. Shoghig Darakjian

On the 26th of May, we finally went to our annual trip. Grades 10 and 11 visited “Bsharri- Al Arz” and Gibran Khalil Gibran’s museum.

The two places were very astonishing and breathtaking. During our time in the museum, we learned so much about the Lebanese American artist, Khalil Gibran. We took a look at his original paintings and drawings, we saw his tomb, his furniture, and belongings from his studio, from the time he spent in New York. We were mostly surprised by the epitaph, which was written next to Gibran’s grave. “I am alive like you, and I am standing beside you. Close your eyes and look around, you will see me in front of you”. Then we headed to the Cedars – “Al Arz” and continued our journey there. We ate at ‘Al-Arze’ restaurant in a calm atmosphere, then had fun discovering the magnificent cedar trees that stand as a symbol of the country.

We had an amazing time and made fantastic memories on that day. We owe all this to Mrs. Shoghig and the principal for organizing this educational and memorable trip. So thank you for giving us this wonderful experience.
