The AGBU Tarouhy-Hovagimian Sec. School received a rare gift during the Alumni gathering on Friday, the 2nd of June 2017, at the Zabel Movsessian Hall.

Mr. Haig Messerlian, a former student of our school, presented a 65-year-old basketball uniform kept in perfect condition by the donor, Dr. Armen Demirjian of Chicago. Mr. Messerlian presented the uniform to Mr. Shiraz Jerejian of the Alumni Auxiliary Committee.

Dr. Demirjian is one of the first graduates of the AGBU Hovagimian-Manougian School. He kept the school basketball jersey, dating back to 1952-1953, in almost mint condition for 65 years, and he so kindly donated it to the school.

We thank Dr. Demirjian and Mr. Messerlian for this kind gesture and wonderful gift. We will treasure it as a token of our long tradition of education and community service, and it will find its deserved place in our school’s memorabilia.
